A dog that performs many different tasks, is one those things that every pet lover wants. While the first breed that comes into the mind while thinking of such a dog is a German Shepherd, but let me tell you that there is a another breed that is far better when it comes to performing tasks, and that breed is the Hungarian Vizslas. The Hungarian Vizslas is a dog that belongs to a category of gun dogs. This breed is referred using several different aliases.

These include names such as Hungarian Wire-haired Pointing Dog, Drotzr MagyarVizsla, Wirehaired Vizslas and the Hungarian Wirehaired Vizlas. You can find this dog by using any of the names mentioned above. Now looking at a Vizslas, you will find that this is a dog having average proportions. Also the dog is very friendly and social in nature.

The original purpose of breeding such a dog was to use it as a guide dog in game hunting sessions. The dog is an invaluable companion for hunters because of its ability to retrieve game both from land as well as water. You will find that the Hungarian Vizslas are very energetic dogs as they were originally bred solely for the purpose of use in hunting. The best way to dissipate such large amounts of energy is by taking your dog for a walk. You can also throw a stick or ball for your dog to go and fetch.

These activities can help a Hungarian Vizslas to spend all the energy that is generally showcased by dogs of this breed. One thing to note is that the Hungarian Vizslas is a dog that cannot adapt itself to an apartment life unlike other dog breeds that are capable of adapting themselves to living in an apartment. Your Hungarian Vizslas can be turned into a destructive machine due to the lack of space coupled with the lack of exercise in an apartment.

Hungarian Vizslas have a long life expectancy provided that they are nurtured and cared for in the proper manner. They generally have been found to live for about 12 to 15 years. One special feature of Hungarian Vizslas is that they are very easy to groom. The only things that you need to do for the purpose of grooming is using a hard brush for brushing and giving your Hungarian Vizslas an occasional dry shampoo bath.

Now you will be pleased to note that the Hungarian Vizslas breed was created around about the 1930s. From this beginning point you have the breed that we are familiar with. By looking at the various criteria like temperament, living conditions, grooming and the description of dogs you will find that you have an excellent Hungarian Vizslas breed on your hands.
